WHAT YOU NEED...
Sourdough Bread: Bread is the key to making croutons. We love sourdough but you can your baguette, focaccia, ciabatta, rye or nearly any type of bread.
Garlic: We used granulated garlic for easy and speed. You could also use fresh garlic, roasted garlic or garlic confit.
Nutritional Yeast: brings a cheesy note with hints of umami. It is one of those ingredients that if you overdo it can add a layer of bitterness, so steady on.
Salt: Yep, salt makes everything taste better.
How To Make Garlic Croutons
Dice the bread to your preferred size. Remember that the smaller the dice, the quicker they will cook.
Toss the extra virgin olive oil, garlic, nutritional yeast and salt. Make sure that all of the croutons are coated. Next, you will spread them evenly onto a baking pan.
Your croutons should be a golden brown color and crispy.
Coat the croutons evenly.
After the croutons have cooled, store them in an airtight container for up to 5 days. We have not tried freezing croutons but the internet says they are good frozen up to 6 weeks.
