How to make crispy tofu

  • Press the tofu for 10 minutes.
  • Cut the tofu into 8 squares.
  • Season the tofu with kosher salt, and five-spice powder. Gently rub into the tofu.
  • Place a dab of sweet chili sauce on top of each tofu square, spread the sauce over the tofu, and sprinkle the scallions over the top.
  • Sprinkle and press the panko bread crumbs onto the top of the tofu.
  • Repeat with the other side.
  • Cook in an air fryer for 25-30 minutes set at 400 degrees.
  • The tofu should be crispy and a light golden brown color.

If you don’t have an air fryer the oven works just fine. Place the tofu on a baking sheet, and cook in an oven set at 425 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
